CRISIS WHAT CRISIS?

The shocking pictures which accompanied the Japan Earthquake quite rightly point to the human suffering when disaster strikes. But make no mistake about it, the damage caused to business in its way is equally devastating – and in many ways longer lasting. Businesses will see their future obliterated and communities that depend on those businesses will endure the hardship that follows. Fortunately, earthquakes and other 'acts of God' are few and far between, but such tragedies occur all the time on a smaller scale. The most trivial fire, for example, can easily put a company out of business, especially small to medium sized ones that haven't backed up files sufficiently, or don't have premises to relocate to immediately. Not for nothing do fire departments spend a lot of time trying to get the message across on fire prevention to businesses.
Which brings me to Harvard Managed Offices. Now over the years, whilst we've not built our operation on disaster, we've certainly gained clients as a result of some sort of unexpected emergency. As I say, large companies tend to have contingency plans, but many, perhaps smaller and with shorter term operating strategies would consider such contingencies a luxury. As a result, those that have experienced a fire, flood or a particularly damaging break-in, have come to us for a serviced or managed office suite to ensure as seamless a chain of operation as possible. Happily, some have stayed much longer than they first envisaged (no doubt enjoying the clear benefits of a well managed office suite by ourselves, but then I would say that wouldn't I?), some move back once their insurance claims are met and the damage repaired – and yes, sadly, some simply don't survive. Either way, the domestic floods, fires and gas-explosions that do happen, don't have to be on an earthquake scale to cause an inordinate amount of emotional and financial pain. In which case it's nice to know that, when the need arises, Harvard - and The Oriel - will be here for you. In fact, think of us as your fourth emergency service (with apologies to the AA).
