Welcome to our new drop-in business lounge
Monday, 20 June 2011
Recently I’ve been speaking to a number of people who are looking for flexibility in their workspace. Some are out on the road and want somewhere to drop-in when they need to get their head down to do some paperwork. Others are home-workers who are in transition from working at home to moving into an office. They want the option of working in a professional environment from time to time. Some of them have told me that working from home can be unproductive; they can end up feeling isolated, can’t network with other professionals or are often (all too easily) distracted from their work. There are also some who do not need a permanent office, but do need a professional environment on an occasional basis.
Some of these people choose to take out an office with us, whilst others are looking for something in between. We can offer them a range of solutions to fit their business needs, from a mailing address service, a registered office address, or a virtual office with a receptionist to answer their calls, on a local telephone number allocated to their business.
Recently we’ve added a brand new solution – one that we think will be a popular addition; this is our Drop-In Business Lounge. It's a light, airy shared office space where clients can drop-in whenever they need a base. This office is furnished with generous desk space, solid, high quality and comfortable office chairs and comes with a high speed wifi connection. There is also informal seating so, as well as being a workplace, it is also ideal for those wishing to meet up with their own clients more informally over a coffee, away from the public hustle and bustle of a hotel lobby or coffee shop. The room also looks out over our lovely communal gardens, which are also available to all our clients. It couldn’t be simpler to use our Drop-In Business Lounge. There is no complex agreement to sign, our clients simply buy a number of hours per month and then drop-in to use the lounge as and when it suits them.
We think this space will be ideal for busy business professionals who do not have a fixed workplace but who still need a professional, serviced environment from time to time.
To see how this could meet your own requirements, please pop in and meet me for a coffee. I’d be delighted to show you around! (As a special incentive your first visit is free).

The MOST important question in our business: Does size matter?
There are many benefits of being in serviced or managed offices: minimum terms, as opposed to long tenancy agreements; inclusion of service charges, so you can budget properly for company spend, and the knowledge that the facilities and services are managed for you. Put simply, they are somebody else’s headache, not yours! But when considering moving into a managed or serviced office, there are lots of things you need to ask to satisfy yourself that you are moving into the right office for you and your business.

Springing into a new office
It's funny, but as soon as the sun starts to shine, and spring is in the air, it really makes everything start to look more optimistic. Not for nothing is spring the best time to sell a sports car, or even buy a house (if anyone is doing anything quite so decadent these days). Despite the continuing doom and gloom of bank breakups and bailouts, experience tells us that plenty of businesses will be looking to start up, upsize or relocate as spring gets into swing. This is the optimism effect of sun – and clocks going forward.
CRISIS WHAT CRISIS?

The shocking pictures which accompanied the Japan Earthquake quite rightly point to the human suffering when disaster strikes. But make no mistake about it, the damage caused to business in its way is equally devastating – and in many ways longer lasting. Businesses will see their future obliterated and communities that depend on those businesses will endure the hardship that follows. Fortunately, earthquakes and other 'acts of God' are few and far between, but such tragedies occur all the time on a smaller scale. The most trivial fire, for example, can easily put a company out of business, especially small to medium sized ones that haven't backed up files sufficiently, or don't have premises to relocate to immediately. Not for nothing do fire departments spend a lot of time trying to get the message across on fire prevention to businesses.
